Bike Seat

A bike seat is a fundamental part of the bicycle that is often overlooked. There are really only three different areas of contact between a rider and their bike: the pedals, the handlebars, and the seat. Of the three areas, the seat bears the brunt of a rider’s weight. Yet it is not mentioned often, if at all, when you start looking at the spec sheets and features of different bikes.
One of the reasons for that is salability: a bike seat is just not that intriguing. There aren’t revolutionary new technologies that will enhance the performance of your seat. Then again, what sort of performance enhancement can you reasonably expect from a seat anyway? This is what keeps the seat from being a featured spotlight of the bike.

In fact, a great bike seat will be one that you rarely think about. The bad ones are noticeable because they end up causing pain, never a good situation. So while the seat may seem unremarkable and even pedestrian, it’s far more preferable that it go unnoticed than it would be for it to become a pain in your rear.
